Request account deletion

This page explains how to request deletion of a Datafy account created in the Datafy mobile app or at datafy.ng.

How to submit your request

  1. Sign in to the Datafy app or web application.
  2. Open Settings → Account management.
  3. Select Delete account, enter your password, and type DELETE.
  4. Your access will be disabled as soon as the request is accepted.

If you cannot sign in, request deletion from the email address registered to your account. We may require additional identity checks to protect your wallet and funds.

Before the account is closed

Any remaining wallet balance, pending transaction, dispute, repayment, or other financial obligation must be resolved. We may ask for additional verification to prevent an unauthorized deletion request.

What is deleted and what may be retained

After verification and completion of outstanding obligations, account access is disabled and personal data that is no longer required is deleted or anonymized. Because Datafy provides financial services, transaction, identity-verification, fraud-prevention, tax, audit, and regulatory records may be retained for the period required by applicable Nigerian law. Retained data is restricted to lawful purposes and is not used to continue providing the closed account.
